Dockroyd Live Book

Within “Dockroyd Live” we have first looked at the history of the graveyard, its connection with the Wesleyan Methodist Chapel and how neglect allowed it to become overgrown and inaccessible. We look at how the Dockroyd Graveyard Restoration Project came about followed by a photo gallery illustrating the sequence of events and progress made. We then explain how the special grid marking system works, enabling visitors to easily locate any grave they wish to find. This, combined with the Memorial Inscription information and Burial Register information, both of which can be found in appendices at the back of the publication, enables the reader to match up the different aspects of each and every grave. A profile of every grave and photograph of every headstone is included in the Who’s Who section.

WHO’S WHO – A WHOLE LOT MORE…..

The WHO’S WHO section in the handbook DOCKROYD LIVE has more than 270 pages of information on all 770 graves in the graveyard. Since the handbook was published A WHOLE LOT MORE information has come to light as family researchers have sent in new stories and photos to add to or correct the information we already had.

We have received new photos, family trees, and interesting stories from all over the world and these will be added here as more is unearthed, helping to create a permanent record of Oakworth’s Dockroyd graveyard. If you have anything to add please send it to us.

All references used in WHO’S WHO – A WHOLE LOT MORE refer to the original stories in DOCKROYD LIVE and are a supplement to what was already known.
